This website is about making learning relevant and fun for elementary school age children who struggle in school due to boredom or a learning style that is not being appropriately addressed. 
 
Little Eyes, Big Visions!  was created for children who don't thrive well in traditional educational "boxes."  From learning disabilities to extreme giftedness, the writing may be on the wall for bored children who hate school and under-perform.  They could end up dropping out of school if they don't find something they are truly interested in learning about, and a self-guided way to experience the satisfaction of doing their own research.

My son was my inspiration for creating Little Eyes, Big Visions!   He started out a very advanced, happy, fearless learner.  With frequent punishment by teachers who refused to believe he would get distracted due to extreme boredom, traditional school was a crushing experience for my son, so we did a lot of homeschooling.  I am happy to say he is doing alright as a young adult out in the real world.  However, lack of attention in traditional school to his early interests and abilities effectively blocked his access to a variety of great career options. 

The goal of Little Eyes, Big Visions! is to help children hold onto their dreams and interests, and retain the option to carry them into exciting adult careers.  How does Little Eyes, Big Visions! work?  Each student is assigned a Member ID Key.  This key is activated with the first dues payment and remains active with each timely monthly dues payment.  Membership ID Keys open the door to any of our Virtual Study Rooms, where interactive software is available for members to explore.  Volunteers (college students and adult professionals) will be logged in during certain hours to answer questions in real time; questions may always be sent in electronically for "asap" answers when volunteers are not available.

We plan to allow members to connect to other members logged into their same study room so they can brainstorm and research together if they want.  Members may return to a particular study room as often as they like, and may change rooms at will.

We invite you to let your elementary school child(ren) join Little Eyes, Big Visions! and give our virtual study rooms a try once the rooms are ready.  In the meantime, membership is not required for children to participate on the "Big Ideas" page.
